If I remember rightly you can only get the temp display if you're running a different kernel, i.e an titan's overclocked version.
If you are, then go to X-terminal and type in:

sudo gainroot
followed by:
Code:
echo bq27x00_battery >> /etc/modules
and the module should be loaded every time you turn on the phone.
