The old wisdom of the jungle tells that you cannot beat the truth out of an Internet forum. More so when it doesn't know the truth.

Let's not forget that the whole Maemo line so far has been akin to concept devices, that got some assembly line time due to some strange coincidence. As semi-admitted by Nokia, the sales numbers on the N900 were better than they had forecasted. Being step 4/5, even they don't think it's finished.

My guess is that Nokia is just ashamed to admit that someone's run-away low budget open-source phone OS project turned out to be better than their beloved Symbian. (They should be, at least.) Hopefully with Meego they will actually start to take it seriously and give some proper resources for it.
