The N900 was just introduced in some major markets like India. They wouldn't do that if it was about to be discontinued or forgotten. At the very least Nokia will have to support it through the warranty period of the last ones sold. And it's well known that the N900 will get at least one more sgnificant update, PR 1.3.

I fully intend to use mine for at least a couple more years.
