Actually, according to the law around here at least; if you go over the speed limit it's your fault. Not the car manufacturer, not the car or the speedometer. Case in point, I drive around in an old oilburner with a defective speedometer, and as long as I stay within limits (relying on knowledge of what gear I'm in and the RPM dial) no one is giving a damn whether the speedometer works or not.

Aside from being a shitty simile: It's really up to the user (driver or N900 end user) to:
a) drive within legal speed limits
b) have the knowledge to ascertain what equipment is needed for a given task and aquire said equipment ie. don't buy a Ferrari if you need a Honda
c) take your car (N900) to the f'in mechanic (Nokia/place where you got it) if it's broke beyond usability. If you buy a pair of pants 2 sizes smaller than you need, do you think people at the bus stop feel sorry for you and your squished nads?

Trolling around here won't fix your speedometer. While you do have a few legitimate points they're lost in BS like below:

Because I'm the hero [s]Gotham[/s] TMO deserves, but not the one it needs right now.

So you will hunt me, because I can take it. Because I'm not your hero. I'm a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.
LOL... See, something like this is the reason why I won't put you on ignore. This is comedy gold. As Venemo said, go see a shrink.

Agreed. Very well written and to the point(s). When I started to look around for a new phone this spring it really ended up with 3 choices: iPhone, HTC Desire or N900. I don't like Apples business style or the trend/herd mentality of their users (however wellcrafted the products may be), so it was HTC or Nokia. In the end the HW keyboard and the fact it was a fully fledged unrestricted linux machine in my pocket sold the N900 over the HTC.

Does it have shortcomings? Yes it does! Does it bother me that the platform seems largely abandoned by Nokia? Hell yeah, it's frustrating. Do I spam every thread around here with my issues? No, because if anyone can make me get the most out of my toy it is this community, not Nokia. Why act like an *** to the people who can help you?
