The reasoning why is pretty simple. Likely the people making these codes don't own one.

As for this working or not, I'm finding this absolutely maddening. I had it working a while ago, even did a reboot or two to see if it still worked (using version in extras).

Then added an Apple Mac IR codes, one for my digital TV tuner, and one for my TV.

No longer works. >.<

Answer YES to overwrite lirc conf file.
So I think I've found out why the app seems to randomly stop working (but this is grounded in observation). It seems if you download too many remotes it won't work anymore. But if you stick to one or two then it works fine.

Maybe it's a limitation on how many devices lirc can deal with?
