It's only an 'add-on' if someone want test others resolutions, biggers or smallers, or convert videos for others devices, the 'old' settings are the same (400x240, 400x224).
However I have tested some videos at 640x360 (784kbps) that plays very well with the new version of mplayer.
The free crop, i think, is more useful.
