Yes, it is. Played with one all day today actually. I'm in the US, btw.

Not of the Galaxy, which isn't out yet. Specs for the ppi (pixels per inch) hasn't come out for the Super AMOLED yet. I'm sure it'll come out soon in all markets by the end of this month. Don't quote me there though - the North American announcement might end up different.

Silly or not, one thing is wrong with your equation in regards to what I have access too.

I can touch an iPhone 4 right now, while I cannot do the same for the Samsung Galaxy S. The comparison, as I've stated before, is inevitably going to happen.

Then we'll get to see just how much BS Jobs was pushing - which, isn't saying a lot since he BS's about pretty much everything already.
like I said, they have done a preview. engadget were in london, where any joe blogg can get their hands on a galaxy s right now.

they even mention the display its almost what the whole article is about.

Calling the iphone display the best display you can get on a phone yet not elaborating on the fact that they are talking about the US at this very specific time is like me saying I'm the fastest man there is and not mentioning I'm talking about those in my house at this present time. Frankly I wish they hadn't even laced the article with subjectivity touted as objectivity like they usually do with res/cap displays, but if they did, at least they could have given a shout out to super AMOLED when mentionng the "best" display.

as for the antenna I can't find you a link but touching an external antenna mostly destroys it. To quote somebody else on the iphone 4 antenna

"Depending on how the antenna is "loaded", the hand effect will impact the antenna "impedance" and create distortion in the radiating pattern. Furthermore, it seems that RX diversity is not supported, which is a key feature next generation smartphones shall have. Also, I wonder about polarization performance and its impact in mobile positioning for high speed packet data....we shall wait and see real life results... "

"anytime you change the way the signal propagates such as having a free and open air space around the antenna vs holding it with your hands changes the way the signal radiates from the antenna thus completely hosing tx and rx characteristics. Its going to been even worse than before."

so if they are indeed the antenna expect it to be even worse than the 3GS and the ipad which is known for poor wifi signal strength. I'm hoping it's not and jobs doesn't know anything about his product.
Plastic is mostly transparent to that frequency anyway so no it does not improve the signal if it's outside.

Perhaps our own maemo community RF expert can chime in here, I'm a theoretical physicists, but this isn't my field (pun not intended) and I'll be very interested in any more info.
