I could be completely wrong here, but do note that this UI is built on top of the same pieces that Nokia uses for the N800. It is quite possible, actually quite likely that much of this will be portable.

Steps in transition from Maemo UI to UME UI
* To move the user interface from the Maemo UI to the UME UI, we do the following:
o Hide the task navigator (a panel). (/etc/hildon-desktop/desktop.conf file change)
o Create a new panel and place it at the top. (/etc/hildon-desktop/desktop.conf file change)
o Tell matchbox not to show window decorations
o Add new plugins to our top panel (application menu and statusbar)
o Change the theme
o Create a home area plugin for navigation.
