Have a few suggestions:

1) I second a previous comment that in thumbnail mode it's not that straightfoward to locate person. Personally I feel it would be more clear to have contact name below the thumbnail, just like the default contact shortcut.
Almost out of the oven... Next release will include the option to show the name under the thumbnail

I will add to the list but can't say it is a priority. Maybe after I implement a "real search" it will make more sense...

The good news is that we don't have to argue about that. You can change very easily most visual aspects of the contact details page - you just can't move things around but you can change size, color, font, background, border, ... Let me know if you are interested and I will write a quick guide (it is all about editing css files)

Also, when rotating from landscape to portrait, the contact info layout is still stuck at the size/layout for landscape mode, i.e. The phone number button goes past the right side of the screen.
I have fixed (for the next release) the "style/layout" issue not adjusting but the autorotation is probably not application related. All that the application does is tell the window manager that wants to auto rotate... all the signals are created and dispatched outside the application.

This is a quite challenging one... The only real way to address the issue is have a quite extensive table with country calling codes. The international prefix is not the only problem, next we have to worry about how many digits the area code is and how many digits is actually the phone number prefix (some are 4, some are 3 and who knows what else).
It is something that I want to improve but it may end-up becoming a user preference. Most users will have just a few international codes on their phone. Check this link on wikipedia for international codes

Agreed but unfortunately it is not something that I can affect. The current one is not handled by the application. It is on the list....

Yes... and also can complicate things when you try to swipe your finger to move to a different desktop. That is why I decided with the not-so-obvious double click. Once I have a user configurable setting for how fast the double click has to be I think most people will find a setting that is comfortable enough. Still open for other ideas though...
