Mobile numbers in the UK tend to be in this format:

07xxx xxxxxx
or
+44 7xxx xxxxxx

ie. the 'area' code is 5 digits, starting 07, or drop the 0 and add +44 for the country code... followed by 6 digits.

Landline numbers tend to be a little less predictable. Normal landlines still tend to end with 6 digits, with the area code before that - though the area codes vary from 3 digits (eg. 020, or +44 20) up to 5 digitis (eg. 01702 or +44 1702)... area codes always start with a zero though, and it's never followed by a 7 (as that's for mobile numbers). Numbers that start 08 are also special, used for customer support, freephone, national rate and other purposes.

Hope that helps
