I've been using Qik Lite on and off on my N900 for a few months with varying degrees of success between being able to email specific recipients a link to view and accidentally making a video 'public' or stuffing it onto Facebook. The video quality could be better. I saw a few months back that Qik launched a Premium version @$4.99 for one year with what they called HD video, but this wasn't out for the N900 yet.
Yesterday evening I noticed "Qik Video Camera Pro for N900" in the Ovi store for £1.50 and in the description it claimed something like 800x480 video recording. The icon for the application was "Qik Premium". So I downloaded it, only to find that it was in fact just the Lite version with a price tag on it, which naturally ticked me off a bit.
In response, I posted a review on Ovi store pointing out the apparent con-trick going on and also reported the application to Ovi as fraud. The upshot is that the application has been pulled from the store overnight, and perhaps, just perhaps, Ovi & Nokia may have actually listened.
