Another thing to consider trying is finding another BP-4L (borrow from a N97, E61i, E63, E71, or E90) and seeing if that gives it any life.

has at least helped with the rebooting-on-charger BME bug.

Of course you can pick up a knock-off BP-4L for ~$5 anyhow which may be more conclusive.

If it's not the battery, well...you are SOL =|

Maybe you'll get lucky and Nokia will fix it. But I've heard of them sending devices back unrepaired even after $50 in shipping costs =\

I recently had a laptop die because of a USB short frying the motherboard and I know it's not fun, not fun at all. I was able to find the same model laptop which was nice.

If things don't work out, hopefully you can find a replacement for a good price.
