After much research, I've decided to get the official Nokia case/flap for my N800. I know it doesn't protect the edges of the N800, but this is probably the best case that I can get for what I want it primarily for:

1. Slim profile
2. Able to use the stand easily
3. Doesn't obstruct the usage of any ports or buttons
4. Protect the screen

I'm not fond of the idea of having to glue a piece of metal strip on the back of the unit, but this is the best choice based on what I've mentioned.

I just ordered mine from buy.com for $21+tax. It's listed for $31, minus $10 for google check out, free shipping, + tax. Not bad at all.
