Vivek, I don't think your understanding is correct. I got one of the 'first day phone' from a priority dealer in India. The dealer called me as soon as he received the stock of 10 phones. I saw the lot in his office as he was entering the list in his PC and picked one. It's a Korean make. My warranty also is registered. One more thing I wanted to add related to this thread is I downloaded the global firmware and flashed it. It has got integrated skype. I was able to make Video call over 3G and Wi-Fi.
