All the other smart phones have 512mb ram
We get just 256

Our screens dont have retina or amoled technologies

We dont get HDMI out or wireless dlna but just generic VGA

Many other smartphones get wireless n speeds of 200mbps
we get just 54mbps

Many other smartphones have 1280x760 video resolution @ 30fps
we have a lousy 800x400 resolution @ 20~fps

Other smartphones are sleek, sharp and light,
Our phones are bricks and heavy

Other smartphones get better battery's and better battery life.
We get virtually the worst battery life of all smart phones

Other smartphone's graphics chip push almost 30 gpu triangles/s
Our phones graphics chip pushs just 14 gpu triangles/s

Please discuss ! thanks

Mostly because the N900 WAS released... about 1 year ago? Time flies in the tech industry.

"All the other smart phones have 512mb ram

Do you really feel the hit? If no, STFU.

"Our screens dont have retina or amoled technologies"

Do you understand what the hell are you talking about? Retina sure as hell isn't a display technology - it's as much of a display tech as my *** is that of gold. AMOLED is unable to compete with the N900 in terms of sunlight visibility. AND when the N900 was released, there was no such thing as SAMOLED and your fiddly Retina tech.

"We dont get HDMI out or wireless dlna but just generic VGA"

Well, those phones with HDMI out were OUT AFTER the N900.

"Many other smartphones get wireless n speeds of 200mbps
we get just 54mbps"

The CPU'd bottlenecked everything before you even hit the limits. AGAIN, it's later technology.

"Many other smartphones have 1280x760 video resolution @ 30fps
we have a lousy 800x400 resolution @ 20~fps"

What sort of resolution is 1280x760? No phone in existence records that, by the way.

24FPS, which is what the N900 records at, is the FPS at which movies are made. Do movies look as though they lack framerates?

"Other smartphones are sleek, sharp and light,
Our phones are bricks and heavy"

I'd argue that the N900 looks sleeker than most phones in the market. Design's a personal taste, though.

GOOD QWERTY keyboards takes space to implement - the one on the Milestone/Flip is BEYOND EPIC FAIL after you've tried the N900's.

"Other smartphones get better battery's and better battery life.
We get virtually the worst battery life of all smart phones"

The woes of running a full desktop OS. Use the N900's Froyo port if you must.

"Other smartphone's graphics chip push almost 30 gpu triangles/s
Our phones graphics chip pushs just 14 gpu triangles/s"

Once again, you have no idea what the hell you are talking about, and displayed your (manufacturer stated) specs fanboyism. The RECENTLY launched Motorola Milestone XT has the same GPU, (it's a PowerVR SGX530 with rated 14MPoly/s output) by the way, and the next GPU refresh for TI is when Cortex A9 products starts to ship.

EVEN then, the data transfer rate of the RAM chips would only allow these GPU's to hit MUCH less than that of their rated output. The iPhone 3GS has a PowerVR SGX535 chip, which has the same capabilities as the iPhone 4's and the Galaxy S's (I know about the differences, but rated output for both SGX540 and SGX535 is the same 28MPoly/s.) barely pushes 7MPoly/s in practise.
