Customize Queen BeeCon Widget (>=v0.1.9.6) to display:
On Desktop Dialer Widget

The Beecons will let you dial phone numbers straight from you desktop

Ready?!

Preparation Steps:
  1. Download and Install Queen Beecon Widget (>=v0.1.9.x)

  2. Save icons/images attached to the post (or Download and extract QBW_Dialer_Images.zip zip file attached to the thread for your convenience) and store images in the specified N900 directory, create it if not existing. (Warning: inside the zip file there could be images with numbers appended to common graphic filenames extensions - ex. football-icon.png.3 - this is NOT an error!) - Do NOT save the following images as their filename will not be correct!

  3. Just drop them HERE:

  4. Download and extract Exported Instances text files (QBW_Dialer_Exported_Instances.zip) attached to the post and store them on phone in Documents directory

  5. Next Steps will import the Exported Instances, the import order is important!!!

  6. Let's start with the Dashboard instance (File QBW_Dialer_Dash.qbw.txt)

  7. Create new QBW widget instance, click Settings, click Advanced button, scroll to bottom

  8. Proceed with the import of QBW_Dialer_Dash.qbw.txt via the following three steps (DO NOT CHANGE DATA IN THE IMPORT BUFFER)!!!

  9. After import you will be brought back to Settings dialog; you now need the QBW Instance ID of the Dashboard which will have to be inserted in every digit button (take a note of it an click Save)

  10. You'll then go back to the Desktop and you'll start the import of the single digits button

  11. Start with QBW_Dialer_D1.qbw.txt file

  12. Repeat widget creation and instance data import steps [7] and [8]

  13. When you are back to the Settings dialog, click on "Edit Cmd"

  14. Change the value indicated by the picture with the QBW Instance ID you noted before

  15. Eventually "Save" the modified command and "Save" your new Digit button instance

  16. Repet steps [12], [13], [14], [15] for every remaining button

  17. When Dash and all Digit buttons have been created arrange them on the Desktop as you like (Keep in mind that the [* +] button will dial a ' * ' if pressed on the LEFT side and a ' + ' if pressed on the right side)

  18. [CLR] button will clear currently dialed number; [BS] will Backspace one digit; [CALL] will dial the entered number

  19. When you feel good ... experiment with beacon re-skinning by changing images and reloading them into the phone.

Good Luck and Have Fun!!!
