I can confirm that the linked patch applies well to rootfs "NITDroid-N900-0.0.5-1FroYo-GAPPS-Fixed.tar.bz2" (which is current from dj_steve) .
But unfortunately it doesn't fix broken wifi.

I tried several times with
- fresh rootfs and then patching rootfs
- rootfs already booted once and then patching
- rebooted patched rootfs

and no success with wifi.
Also, charging icon is still with "?" .

It is possible to switch wifi on and off. But it doesn't start scanning. After a while (about 30 seconds) I get shown a wifi "trulte" which is not in range. May wifi trulte is in range at dj_steve's place ...

Lets see what next rootfs will bring.
