I guess there was more than one typo in those instructions. I am now using these settings successfully, as far as I can tell.

Without the proxy I get a gateway timeout trying to send MMS messages. I don't really know what any of this stuff does, and am just groping around in the dark trying to find a working config. I'm on the unlimited web plan, with the internet2.voicestream.com apn if it makes any difference.
