Thanks for the reply. I tried taking the battery and mem card out and then put the battery back in and that didn't work.

so if I just try and boot normally, I get all the boot text scrolling on the screen. The nokia wording then comes up and the phone vibrates then it goes back to text and then back to the Nokia wording with vibrate and then back to text and back to nokia wording one more time, then back to boot text and then it shuts down.

When I try and boot the droid os I select 4 from the bootmenu, and I get all the boot text and eventually it goes to the NITDROID screen with the Matrix style screen, then after a few seconds it goes back to text and the shuts the phone down.

I think I recall reading in the text somewhere on the boot screen that it couldn't ssh something something.
I'll try and record it so I can see more.
