I am sure you know, but just in case, you can use OpenOffice.org for that with Easy Debian.

This is a great announcement. But, I have all my docs in ODF format. How good is ODF format support now. Last I heard KOffice was still lagging quite a bit. I feel inclined to just keep using OOo. Using the info on this page has made a big difference in its speed for me.
