Ah, ok Motorola. Sorry about that (I read the article on the Metro early in the morning). Anyway, I hope other Android manufacturers don't do that.

Edit: And that really is a BS excuse. To root or put custom ROMs on your device you need to do it willingly (granted it's relatively easy with all the Youtube tutorials floating around). So if a user gets malware because of that, well it's their own bloody fault. Just like all those iPhone jailbreakers a while back who got a "virus" because they didn't change their SSH password.
