Ahhh...kilabits vs. kilabytes. So I should divide his numbers by 8 yielding 50 to 100kBps. That is probably a good number from an efficiency standpoint on a flash device but like I said, I've had success with as high as 1,240kbps in Mplayer. I prefer to leave the file in as high a quailty format as possible, and not encode it several times for different devices. We view the files on a laptop, Mediacenter PC connected to an 37" flatscreen and an Archos 604 and now a 605. I let FairUseWizard truncate off the blackspace and only keep the "real" pixels in the DVD vob datafile.
The files come out looking very close to the original DVD with a bit more highlight clipping.
