the only time I've had a problem with my cards so far has been a few nights ago trying to backup the internal 8g card over usb. in this case my connection was through 2 chained, powered hubs to usb 2.0. I got read errors and filesystem corruption, for which I fsck'd the card but still couldn't get a full backup. the next morning I tried with a direct connection to my usb 1.1 laptop and had no problems, then tried again with direct connection to my usb 2.0 desktop and had no problems.
