Considering Nokia has not built a high end Mainstream device in the past 12 months the results are better then expected.

They increased Marketshare while Apple lost (of course different price points). Here are the Market Shares from Tomi Ahonen:

It seems the low end Smartphones have really hit a nerv in the developing world... But I read that smartphone sales even in Europe were up for Nokia

Lets spread the word that Nokia is alive and kicking Regarding the 40% profit drop that everyone is citing. Really? It was a year of catch up and there was not so much profit there in the first place... I am highly optimistic for next FY.
