To be fair, from a development perspective life is easier if you target the baseline. Handling custom modifications are niceties that come later.

It's entirely possible for them to not be aware of Titan while developing this. My guess is they've been busy, you know, working on the code, designing experiments, and writing papers. Cut a little slack!
