I have to agree that the PSP (2000) is a much better portable console than a DSi. I have used both and own none. In terms of games, the PSP is way ahead (even though it was made years before) but for mucking around the DSi is more fun. Btw I'm 178cm (yes metric system rules) and my hands are XL size, I can grip a basketball one-handedly.

Well I feel your pain, it would be awesome to have an Omnia ... a single device we take for multiple purposes. And the market has only recently started aiming towards that vision. So far the iPhone 4, N900, Droid, Nexus One are the only devices that joins "gaming machine" and "phone" into one package although all are pretty/somewhat disappointing gaming machine. And you're right there will always be a compromise, and this was the reason behind my concept: To find the optimal niche where the two could co-exsist.
Well you could buy an old PSP and a HTC Dream (G1) for price or strive for ultimate portability (only one device) and own something like I've designed.
