It's probably a combination of budget costs, monetary unit fluctuations and projections. Ultimately, does it really matter? If it's more expensive than the iPhone but you GET it, do you complain or do would you rather they didn't even make it available?

As I often say: My problem is AVAILABILITY and SUPPORT. Cost is worthwhile if you can rely on getting both availability and support to make the cost worth it. If Nokia makes accessories but they're expensive--it might still not matter to me because, HEY! At least I can GET that accessory for that device that I preferred, even if the other product's accessory is cheaper. Same for software. It's not entirely fair, but it's not worth complaining about.

Why don't YOU make an Angry Birds-like game... an original made for the N900 and compete on pure features, quality and price? Not saying that as a rhetorical slap-in-the-face. I'm just suggesting that if someone here can do better, go for it! I'm sure folks will EASILY pay half the price for your game even if it's only half as good. Why not try?
