Regarding your comment on the practical speedup by moving files from internal to mmc, I didn't measure when I did this once, but didn't really notice the increased speed by running the OS from mmc.

Finally, got 2007 HE running without problem. Instead of entire OS, I just flashed the filesystem, keeping the Fanoush kernel intact. Seems to be working well so far. Recommend others who have had problems to try this also.

Thanks Carl, so the command will have the dir /root show up as a dir and read file from file manager, right? Thanks, sounds like a good idea. Well, if it drags down everything, I think I am goin to take a pass.

Yes. MMC boot does not give much noticable faster in operation. I measured it and posted two times , yes, not only once. In theory, it should speed things up, but in practice, no.

I tried to pass that I understand what you were talking about in the last paragraph, "instead of flashing the whole sys, you just flashed the filesystem", in fact, I dont. You mind to drop a few lines to explain it, and write down the commands how to achieve it, do not forget to put down your starting configuration, OS/flash/MMC 1G or 2G etc. This may be useful when we have to do our ritual, time to time, the Nokia upgrade. I like to write down those step-to-step instructions because I like to help others, that is a plain lie and a plain joke , in fact, it helps me to follow it myself in case I have to do it again a few month down the road, for e.g. I have install, remove, re-install maemo mapper probably 5 times to get it working, so does the pairing of my Treo.
