I mean fapman doesn't find updates from ovi store apps!?
Is that correct? if yes why? if no, what did I wrong?
Yes, it is impossible. Nokia has disabled that ability from apt-get (trying to install user/hidden category apps will always fail, so they are... well... hidden).

Maybe just by renaming/linking /usr/bin/hildon-application-manager to fapman?

Later: Just tried to link ham to fapman, fapman is started, but then I always get a warning that I'm not running the app as root;(
How can I do this?
At the moment, no. It won't work.
I'll see what can be done about it in the future.

Currently the only way is to use the web browser button - it should open the package's maemo.org website with the changelogs in the web browser.

They do not share the repository settings, fapman uses it's own list of repos. They are read from HAM only the first time the app is run.

Is the app not visible when you list your installed applications and sort the list by date?

Maybe some day.

The buttons have custom look because I wanted them to be larger, but Qt's default button style seems to completely break when the buttons are taller than default. Could be a Qt bug or a problem with the system themes.

It seems to work... maybe you could run it after each installation? Or is this what you already tried?
That script does nothing with the latest firmwares... It's empty.
