While I totally admire and support the community aspect of an OS development, the resources required are too big (as Volt mentioned) to do such testing and porting and hardware adaptation. In the end without the support of Nokia there is the chnace it will stll be a half baked effort.

And this has been true for 770 - N800/N810 - N900 transitions.

This has been true for the Zauaus open development effort - which also died (petered out) slowly and painfully.

Have seen (and initially supported) such well meaning intentions by the community - but I realize thw logistical tasks are not possible without the parent company doing the main leg-work.

A lot of N900 usres are not happy with the unfinished nature of the N900 at least in the phone dept. To get a finished Meego device we will have to buy a MeeGo device itself probably.

If I am proven wrong I will be the most happiest - but at this juncture my scepticim gets the better of my enthusiastic self.
