What proprietary applications, if any, will be available to each of vanilla MeeGo on the N900 and MeeGo-Harmattan on the N900 doesn't appear to have been fully determined yet. At least, no definitive announcement has been made. There are both legal and technical barriers that must be overcome. At the very least, the Ovi Store should be available on MeeGo-Harmattan.

In terms of the legal barriers, there's little direct involvement the community can have. Polite showings of customer desire for specific applications probably couldn't hurt though, and one need not be a Community Council rep to organize such an effort.

We're not even the only community who would be thrilled to have, for instance, a direct, accept-the-EULA-and-go download of the Adobe Flash plug-in for ARMEL. Beagleboard, Touch Book, Debian ARM, Ubuntu ARM, and other users would likely flock to that cause.

As for the technical barriers, that's where more support for hardware adaptation effort being carried out Stskeeps and others would go far. After all, if that effort fails, the legal barriers become quite irrelevant. Again, one need not be a member of the Community Council to make a difference. Being a coder certainly helps, but there's likely plenty of organizational, documentation writing, bug triaging, and other work that can be done.
