no the GPU plugin is "just" an improved software renderer but the last info i read was that franxis, chui and efgea are considering using the 3d hardware of the wiz, and if they do, its not sure that they will use opengl for that(if they do it will be opengles 1.1) cause the opengl dirvers for wiz seems to suck so they maybe try to use the 3d hardware directly without opengl.
