Without hacking or third party apps, the major drawbacks of android multitasking vs maemo multitasking are:

By default android lists only the last 6 applications you used

there is no easy way to close an app that is running in the background

android closes apps for you whether you want them to or not

different apps close in different ways(some have a button, some just when you use back key all the way out, etc)

****YES I REALIZE you can solve most of these problems by searching android forums and the android market, taking the time to compare the various solutions to each, installing and sometimes paying for the app that 'fixes' these, and then learn how to use the app******
