The problem with what you just said is that you promote the idea that you should settle for what you have now, flaws, exploits and all, and anything different, better or new is bad. In essence, you're forgetting that your device is very closely tied to the Nokia brand very closely and the community can only do so much to support your experience. Especially if you experience a hardware issue. Especially if you're in the US.

Also, I prefer to see my emails content (on gmail) while im replying. Hence hardware keyboard. One attached to the phone. I guess im just not "modern" enough to go all onscreen keyboard.

I am glad I can get a crappy workaround worse than the n900s for flash and mass storage, all while hopefully voiding my warranty by jailbreaking.
GOOD NEWS! There are other products out there, as powerful or more powerful and capable, with slide-out keyboards too!
