IE9 beta has HTML5 already in it with GPU acceleration right now. Gecko/Webkit implement parts of HTML5 differently - which is not surprising since it's speculated that HTML5 won't be a final standard until 2022.

I can remember the days before HTML 4.0.1 became a standard.
