Either one or the other, but the manufacturers know that, so they get away with it.

If you go into the trouble of importing stuff from the US, as I sometimes do, you will realise that after freight and taxes, you will come quite close to 1 dollar = 1 Euro. That is what the manufacturers know.


Still, the question is about price drop in Europe. In case nobody noticed yet, the iPod touch is not yet available in Europe (it is delayed), and its price is €299 (€399 for the 16 GB model), NOT $500 as was written earlier in this thread. My bet is that the N800 price will drop to under €300 within one or two weeks (maybe not at Nokia's shop, but certainly on the web), that is when the iPod touch will be available in Europe.
