Before replacing anything. After reflashing your device and before installing any applications, did the screen still be unresponsive?

adblock plus
fmms
lens cover reminder
personal data plan monitor
plastic theme
wifi signal applet

You have many widgets on that list. They may be crashing hildon-home I guess..
