Yes! I think the key is to start with a clean calendar and contact list. Thanks so much. Now everything works perfectly.

BTW, I use erminig-ng to sync with google calendars, which allows you to sync multiple calendars. I mean you can have multiple calendars on N900 and multiple calendars on google. And they'll sync individually.
