errr just a note... since you say you have no nokia/maemo experience

- If you are after a COMPLETE Flash media experience in your browser
or
- If you want a BIG App store
or
- If you want stuff to "JUST WORK" (tm)
or
- If you expect Nokia to provide further official OS improvements to Maemo (or if you expect Nokia to officially provide anything more then what they currently have)
or
- If you want to use the N900 as a PHONE rather then as a COMPUTER

then I think you should stop right there and have a careful think about whether htis phone is for you - I say this because you mention you have NO maemo experience so you do not know the current history and situation and controversy surrounding the n900.

If you do want to spend the time (and this is quite significant since you have no experience) to do all the tinkering and tweaking and reflashing that will surely be required and you ENJOY doing this (i.e. not just doing it to get the phone to work) , then welcome and dive right in because for the tinkerers and tweakers, there is no better device.
