1. Install shortcutd; it gives a lot more flexibility of control.

2. Look at the wiki page about browser location bar tricks linked to in my sig to improve your browsing experience.

3. Look at the Epic MOD thread, or at least at the wiki pages linked to therein, if you want to tweak to look and feel of the UI.
