So, this is a designated bigwig participation thread? Interesting; the silence is often the loudest thing coming from Nokia.
The main way I use multitasking is if I am doing something time consuming (running app manager, for example, or accessing a slow internet server) when I get bored I just switch to something else.
I use FeedingIt to get rss feeds. While I wait for them to populate, I of course do other things, like read stuff with FBreader.
And jumping over to Witter or Xchat and seeing what's happening is always something to do while there's a hold up elsewhere.
In other words, mainly I use multitasking to work around traffic jams that naturally occur.
