[QUOTE=Laughing Man;814545]If you have PR 1.2 installed on your N900 than microB comes with geolocation. No need to install an add-on. Likewise with Fennec (comes built-into the browser).

I'm assuming the only thing it does is allow you to check in to a nearby location (based off your GPS location) or specify a name for your location since that's what I've seen when I tested it . I'm assuming it works after that (again haven't tried since I have no interest in letting people know where I am) since it had already figured out the nearby places. I'll try sometime this week when I have some free time. Probably on one of the days where I'm going to class.[/QUOTE

Hi all,

I came with a conclusion with the trial and errors which I did,,,that You can check in one and only case provided you are in Wifi connection rather than UMTS data connection.

This is because when ever you are with UMTS connection,,the cell signal provides us a rough estimate of location base on cell id ,,even the gps wont giv you the exact coordinates even when it is on Fine accuracy .

But when once you connect to the near by Wifi ,,,you can Check in for sure,,I checked some 7 times on wifi till now from firefox browser.

But Laughing Man we all are waiting for your valuable observation and feedback on this.

Thanks
