IANAL, but I would say is handled under warranty (thus on a case by case basis and would be valid only if an advertised feature would be broken or missing), which is different than upgrade-upgrade-upgrade support people are missing (even though bugtracker activity suggests that it, in fact, hasn't completely stopped), both of which are a different thing from what is speculated by the OP, the N900 stopping being sold in a particular country
