Unless you leave it at full load 100% of the time, the possibility of electromigration and eventual processor package failure is exceptionally low, due to the fact that CPU scaling is in place - and it works fantastic. Modifying sampling rate and up_threshold (even leaving it in its stock condition), leaves your device at its minimum frequency for most of its life. Mine only scales up to (and stays at) 1150MHz when I'm doing some serious crunching, and spends most of its time at 250-500MHz.
