Sadly if Meego is to be one day a mainstream OS..this is a necessary requirement. Most people (ie. not techies) don't want to search for dependencies. Heck most of them don't even know how to, let alone solve conflicts that may arise due to these dependencies.

I disagree with that rule too..but on the other hand I am not part of 'most people' and do know how to solve my own issues. This problem is already seen on the N900, where new users don't know where to begin looking once a problem arises, and the Nokia did their best to keep the N900 from the spotlights to limit its purchase. I don't think they will do such a thing with Meego. Meego must sadly be..like iOS..
