For practical reasons, the first thing that happened was the maintenance agreement between us and Nokia. Not really a big deal, as it was just a modification to the model we've already been maintaining and developing maemo.org with for years (I know Nemein is not really familiar name here, but we've been involved with the community since the Nokia 770 days). When the paperwork was out of the way it was time to start figuring out how things actually ought to be run, and for that we approached the council. But as Jaffa already wrote, making the management of maemo.org more community-oriented was so obviously the right thing to do that it didn't need much discussion
