From what i've been reading (not enough probably) ; it seems Nokia rose to the top a while ago, but then got overconfident, stopped trying hard and just rode on it's past success gradually loosing momentum spreading it's energy thin. Eventually it forgot what it was really about and became hollow; and when competitors started getting close, it freaked out and tried to fill the hollow with caricatures of it's past and of what the competitors did.

Nokia needs to once again focus on making rugged but cheap mobiles, and innovative, high quality and high-tech yet rugged devices, and whatever else used to make a Nokia a Nokia

Oh, and of course, making sure that tech support and other warranty related services don't make Nokia look bad also wouldn't hurt

There are probably still many other advices Nokia should pay attention to (like for example that often repeated complaint that Symbian is not managing to keep up with current expectations for performance, flexibility etc as it used to)
