Don't forget settings and training!
Enable portrait mode.
In portrait mode, don't cover the whole screen with ten narrow rows of cells; instead, cover only bottom half of the screen with one large cell and one normal text-box (similarly to virtual keyboard), and use the cell to input one character at a time. Like, the gesture which previously erased contents of a cell, now functions as backspace. Large size of the cell could possibly allow easier input.
