Presumably you can do the link to a folder rather than a file right. So I could if I have a picture folder called New York I can have it take me to the New York folder and then select the file I want to view in the folder? This way I avoid the image viewer app bug of going to view all images on start up which takes ten years for me since I have like 10gb of photos (not sure if it was fixed in PR 1.2 as I stopped using the app completely because of the bug and use file manager to view pictures now).
Also someone came up with a way to create desktop shortcut bookmark files where you edit some text file and stick it in the root folder with the desktop files (think it was Ronald900 or leenut). The advantage of this over using normal bookmarks is the short cuts are the same size as application short cuts, unlike bookmark short cuts which are huge. Can you do the same with this? There if you want a bookmark for maemo for example you would edit something in the text file to say maemo.org. Can you do the same for files on the device and edit the file to say MyDocs/My Videos?
Would be really cool if you could as I could then create loads of small short cuts that lead to my most used folders and stick them on one of my desktops. Would avoid the pain of using application manager which scrolling and browsing through can be a real pain if you have tons of files like I do.
