Hey, if you do get an android system and are looking for a project that would be useful to you and immortalize you as a god to the community as a whole, you may want to consider....

Porting an X client to the platform!

It would make it so much easier to run X at full speed (rather than the current VNC method), would open up new possibilities of running MeeGo inside of Android, and bring with it a wealth of desktop apps from popular distros (eg. Ubuntu).

It would be the functional bridge between desktop Linux and the Android island!

The NDK should allow a port of a client without relying on Java -- though it would have to be compiled for incompatible devices, but still the code/patch would be very useful. Perhaps there's a Java x-client?
